“We are saddened by the ongoing tragic events surrounding the ministry and life of our former presiding bishop and all those affected by these current circumstances. It was our desire and hope that the College of Bishops could have been a place where he and all parties could have confessed, confronted, and dealt with these very serious situations. We offered every opportunity for repentance, restoration, and recovery and those opportunities were rejected. We have no further dealings, contact, or authority in these matters however, we do pray for all parties involved that the will of God would be thoroughly worked in their lives. It is our prayer also for the many victims of these circumstances that they would run to God and not from Him. It is our hope that all will gain confidence in God and not allow the failings of flesh to impugn their faith in God.”
Presiding Bishop David Huskins

On November 4 at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Coral Springs, Florida, Bishop Richard W. Thomas of Abundant Life Christian Center of Margate, Florida was consecrated into the sacred office of the episcopacy. The event was accompanied by a proclamation of the Mayor of Margate designating the day as Dr. Richard Wayne Thomas Day.

Presiding Bishop David Huskins challenged the congregation and the new bishop with his message on “drawing out the life of a general.” The several thousand gathered celebrated the joyous event with a beautiful outdoor reception following the sacred service.

Assisting His Grace, Bishop David Huskins in the sacred ceremony were ICCC presbytery members Bishop John D. Washington, Bishop Julia Whitehurst-Wade, and ICCC member Bishop H. Alan Mushegan and Bishop Carlos Malone. Participating Bishops from other reformations included Bishop William Garrett and Bishop Hugh Thomas.
